Equestrian Takes Fourth at SUNY New Paltz Show

Drew’s equestrian team was back in action on November 5, competing in the SUNY New Paltz Horse Show. The Rangers placed fourth in a competitive field of nine teams. They tallied 21 points throughout the competition, falling behind Centenary, Marist and William Paterson. Centenary finished with 42 points, and Marist was a point behind with 41 points.

Claudia Payor (‘19) was the Rangers’ top scorer for the day, taking second in the Open Fences and fourth in Open Flat. Kristen Gagliano (‘20) won four points for the Rangers, taking third place in Walk Trot. This score also qualified her for Regionals on November 11. Catherine Tamburri (‘20) also turned in strong performances, taking fourth in the Novice Flat and sixth in Novice Fences. Michelle Verwaay (‘21) took first in her division in Novice Fences and Hannah Young (‘21) placed first in her section of Novice Flat.

The Rangers will be back in action November 11 for the ISHA All-Region 3 Horse Show at the North Jersey Equestrian Center.
