The men’s golf team has had a busy spring season, competing in several different tournaments before Landmark Conference championships, which are being held at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, PA Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6.
The team competed in the Moravian Spring Invitational on Thursday, April 12, where three Rangers were entered in the event. Michael Bliss (‘21) led the team, shooting an 84 to tie for 27th place in the tournament. Ryan D’Alessandro (‘18) finished just one stroke behind, finishing with a personal-best of 85, earning him a 30th place finish. The final Ranger to compete in the event was Sotirios Doolen (‘19), who carded a 93 in the tournament, finishing in 93rd overall.
The Rangers competed as individuals in the tournament, as four team members must compete for a team score.
The team had a quick turnaround, with the Rosemont Raven Invitational two days later on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15. Over 36 holes, the Rangers tallied a 770; earning them 13th in the event.
Anthony Castronova (‘20) led the Rangers, with a two day score of 184; he tallied a 93 on Saturday and a 91 on Sunday, placing him 56th in the event overall. Bliss was not far behind, finishing in a tie for 57th with a score of 186 over the two days. D’Alessandro turned in another strong performance, shooting a 189 to end in a tie for 634 place. Rounding out the tournament for the Rangers, Doolen earned a 71st place finish with a two-day score of 211.
The Rangers are back in action in their last tournament before championships on Monday, April 23 as they host their inaugural Spring Brook Invitational at the Spring Brook Country Club in Morristown, NJ.
The women’s team travels to Ithaca for the Ithaca Invitational on April 21-22, their last tournament before Landmark Conference Championships.
