One Saturday night,
Africa at Drew
Shined through
Runway
In the building
Called EC.
The eyes of
Usual lunch crowd
Sparkled
When
Jubilant group
Of all nations
Strutting down the autumn evening
Glad to be African
In the pride they can’t hide.
Music was there
Food was plenty.
My Drew people
Were happy in there.
I wonder
Why?
Why there is only
One Saturday night
We can hold onto.
Well,
Cheers I heard
Hugs we embraced
Whispered
“Saturday may not be over yet.”
