Golf Opens Spring Season

Drew’s men’s and women’s golf teams returned to action for the spring portion of their season on March 31 for the Second Run Shootout at the Scotland Run Golf Club hosted by Arcadia University.

The women’s side placed second thanks to the phenomenal play by Lucy Lamb (‘21) and Marissa Broderick (‘21) who went 1-2 in the standings. Meanwhile, the men’s squad placed 11th in the team standings.

Lamb carded an 82 to take first place, beating her teammate by three strokes. Broderick shot an 85 to tie for second with a golfer from Muhlenberg. Dating back to the fall, this was the second straight tournament Lamb and Broderick finished 1-2.  Lamb earned her third Landmark Conference of the Week honors this season for her effort.

Kristine Masseria (‘21) recorded a 90 to place her in sixth, while Kristen Bubrowiecki (‘20) captured twenty-seventh place with a 125. This gave them a team score of 382, five strokes behind the first place finisher.

As for the men’s side Kushal Renjen (‘21) shot an 83 for a twenty-second place finish. While Michael Bliss (‘21) and Anthony Castronova (‘20) each carded an 86, tying for thirty-seventh position. Ryan D’Alessandro (‘18) placed sixty-third with a card of 99.

The men’s team next trip will be to the NYU Invitational from April 7-8. The women’s squad will return to action at the McDaniel Spring Invitational April 7.
