Lucy Lamb Sets Program Record at NYU Invitational

Drew University’s women’s golf team teed off at the Forest Gill Field Club for the NYU Invitational on Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15. The Rangers carded a combined score of 719 to place 7th in the ten-team two-day tournament.

Lucy Lamb (‘21) led the Rangers on this weekend when she shot an 81, the lowest round in program history on Saturday. She followed up an 89 on Sunday, good for a 36-hole score of 170, finishing in a 23rd place tie. Lamb’s record setting efforts earned her Landmark Conference of the Week honors.

Teammate Marissa Broderick (‘21) carded an 89 Saturday and shot a team-best 85 on Sunday. With a combined score of 174, Broderick placed 31st. In 36th place with a 183 was Kristine Masseria (‘21), shooting a 91 on Saturday and a 92 on Sunday. Close behind was Sarah Grass (‘21) notching a 38th place tie with a cards of 98 and 94 for a total of 192.

The initial Golfstat Division III Rankings for the 2017-2018 season came out this week with the Ranger women coming in at No. 99 making Drew the highest ranked team from the Landmark Conference.

Both the men’s and women’s golf teams will tee off at the Goucher Invitational to conclude their fall schedules. The two-day tournament will be at the Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, MD on October 23 and 24.
