After a week off, the cross country team was back in action on Saturday, September 23 when they traveled to Annandale-on-Hudson, New York to compete in the Bard Raptors Invitational Race. Both the men’s and women’s teams turned in some of their best performances of the season, with the men ending tied for 13th place and the women finishing 14th.

Christian Parenti (‘19) paced the men’s team, turning in a 19th place performance in a field of over 100 runners. He was able to stop the clock on his 8,000 meter race in under half an hour at 29:10. His teammates were not far behind him, with Anatole Colbert (‘19) finishing in 31:33 and Kyle Majid (‘19) crossing the line in 32:49. Their team total was just two points behind 12th-place Queensborough.

The women were led by Lisa Rojas (‘18) and Mollie Ankrom (‘21), who placed 33rd and 36th with times of 20:55 and 21:04 respectively in the 5,000 meter race. They set the pace for the Rangers to finish the race in 14th overall.

Both teams have a weekend off before heading to nearby Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ to race in the NJIT Highlander Challenge on October 7.
