The Drew University field hockey team began Landmark Conference play by battling it out against Elizabethtown College on Saturday, September 23. The Rangers dropped a 5-0 decision to the Blue Jays, who scored 4 times in the first half, and added another goal late in the second half.
The efforts of goalkeeper Ryann Callaghan (’19) are not to be disregarded, however, as she recorded a season best of 17 saves, which raised her conference-leading total to 95. Another commendable feat was accomplished by Michele Pozyc (’18), who made a defensive save for the third consecutive game.
The Rangers return home to face off against Moravian College, this Saturday, September 30. The match will be the Rangers vs. Cancer game, to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
