Last weekend the Rangers men’s lacrosse team traveled to Norfolk, Virginia to take on Virginia Wesleyan University. That was the team’s only contest this past week before they travel to Elizabethtown, Penn on April 8, to take on Landmark conference rival Elizabethtown College at 2 p.m.
The game against Wesleyan went into overtime where the Rangers would unfortunately fall to their Virginia based opponent. The overtime game, was played tight throughout the entire competition, with the lead going back and forth between teams. Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead as they scored five goals to Drew’s three. The Rangers would have the upper hand the rest of the game as they scored three goals in both the second and fourth period. The scoring campaign was led by Seamus O’Connor (‘20) as he scored three goals for the Rangers. The team finally fell in overtime by a score of 9-8.
The team has five more games this season, all conference games, which include two more at home. Their next home game will be against Moravian College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 15 at Ranger Stadium.
