The men’s and women’s golf teams have a busy spring season ahead, with this past weekend really picking up momentum. Both teams competed in separate tournaments and will again be competing again on Thursday. The women are entered in the Muhlenberg Spring Invitational at Lehigh Country Club and the men are part of the Moravian Invitational at the Southmoore Golf Course.

The women placed fifth out of nine in the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 7. Marissa Broderick (‘21) led the Rangers, ending in second place, only one stroke behind the winner of the tournament. She scored an 11-over-83, tying for second with a golfer from Stevenson.

Lucy Lamb (‘21) placed tenth for the Rangers, carding a 91. Kristine Masseria (‘21) shot a 98, placing her in 24th place and Kristen Bubrowiecki (‘20) ended in 38th with a score of 119. The Rangers had a combined team score of 103, with an overall score of 391.

In the week following the tournament, Broderick received yet another Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week award, her third for the season. Her other two honors were given the week of Sept. 25 and Oct. 9. In each of the weeks following a tournament, either Broderick or Lamb have been chosen as Athlete of the Week, tallying six awards between the two rookies, one following each of the Rangers’ six tournaments.

The men’s team participated in the esteemed NYU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, April 7 and 8. Michael Bliss (‘21) led the Rangers, shooting 166 over the 36 holes, carding an 85 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday. This tied him for 33rd overall in the tournament.
