Equestrian Competes in William Paterson Horse Show

Drew University’s equestrian team recently competed at the William Paterson Horse Show at the North Jersey Equestrian Center on Saturday, November 11. Finishing with 28 points, the Rangers placed 5th just behind William Paterson, Marist and Army, all of whom earned 31 points and shared 2nd place.   

Hannah Young (‘21) finished first in Novice Flat aboard Sophie, tying her for Reserve High Point Rider. She also took second in Novice Fences on Nemo. Meanwhile, Catherine Tamburri (‘20) qualified for Regionals in Novice Fences after a third-place showing aboard Molly. She also rode Linus to third place in her section of Novice Flat.

Carli Gentile (‘18) took third in Open Flat, riding Collin to go along with a fourth-place finish in Intermediate Fences. Teammate, Claudia Payor (‘19) placed second in Open Fences on Jet and third in Open Flat on Kilot.

The other Drew point riders were Kristen Gagliano (‘20) placing second in Beginner Walk Trot Canter aboard Linus. Noelle Spitz (‘20) took third place in Walk Trot on Sebastian. Kaitlin Hofer (‘21) rode Catini to third place in Intermediate Flat, she also finished second in her section of Intermediate Fences aboard Zorayda. Abby Staskel (‘19) also rode Zorayda in Open Fences taking fourth.

Drew equestrian concludes its fall schedule Saturday, November 18 at the Stevens Horse Show, being held at the Centenary Equestrian Center.
