Hearts Break as Field Hockey Drops Double Overtime Match Against Willy P

The Drew University field hockey team honored its senior members Michele Pozyc (’18) and Madi Sheetz (’18) before battling it out against the number 12-ranked Catholic University, on Saturday, October 21. The Rangers dropped a 5-0 decision to the Cardinals, who scored two early goals that they would carry into halftime.

Goalkeeper Ryann Callaghan (’19) never fails to impress, as she recorded a total of 24 saves. Pozyc extended her program career record by recording her 50th save, while Mackenzie Hascup (’20) and Madyson Griswold (’20) were also credited with a defensive save each.

The Rangers were back on home ground to play their last home game of the season on Wednesday, October 25. In an exciting battle which led ended in a double overtime, the Rangers endured a 3-2 loss against the William Paterson Pioneers. Sheetz was able to come away with a phenomenal two goals in the final home game of her career, the Rangers would carry over this advantage into halftime. Pozyc was also credited with a defensive save, while Callaghan made 19 saves.

The Rangers are all set to conclude their season, as they battle it out against Goucher College this Saturday in Towson, Maryland.
