It’s another busy weekend in the Concert Hall with multiple opportunities to catch some great music on campus. With multiple concerts happening Friday and Saturday, it’s sure to be a musical weekend here in the Forest.
Friday at noon, the Drew Music Department will hold their first Music at Noon concert. These concerts allow Drew music students who take vocal or instrumental lessons a chance to perform pieces they have been working on. This is the first of four such concerts that will happen throughout the semester. Friday’s Music at Noon concert will feature various solos by instrumental and vocal students as well as a performance by the Jill Spurr Titus Honors Chamber Music Ensemble. The concert begins at noon and is free for everyone.
The fun continues tomorrow night with a concert by the NJ Gay Men’s Chorus sponsored by the Theological School’s SPECTRUM Student Caucus. This concert is sure to be a great time, and with free admission it is not be be missed. Donations for GLSEN are going to be collected so make sure to bring a few dollars to support LGBTQ students all over the country. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.
To finish out this weekend of music, tomorrow is the “Let Justice Roll!” concert. This concert will feature Drew University’s Pan-African Choir joined by the Christ Church Choir from Summit. The concert will be a gospel music celebration of Black History Month. Make sure to come down to the Concert Hall at 7 p.m. for this lively concert. If you miss tomorrow’s concert, you can catch it again at the Christ Church in Summit, NJ, at 4 p.m.
