The Drew University women’s basketball team won a closely fought battle against Goucher College on Jan. 28. Michaela Keegan (’18), helped them towards their 54-50 victory, scoring a career high 19 points in the game. With 54 seconds remaining, the game was tied at 49-49 when Ally Raulf (’18) broke the tie, scoring two points from free throws after being fouled by an Elizabethtown player. They were able to score again before the game ended, extending their lead to four points.

The team returned to the court in the Baldwin Gym two days later, on Jan. 30, where they narrowly missed a victory against the College of Staten Island. At halftime, the score was evenly matched at 37-36 in favor of Drew, but the Dolphins would go on to win the game by a narrow margin of 76-71. Nonetheless, the Rangers put their best foot forward, as Sam Lane (’17) matched her highest total of 16 points, and Hannah Miller (’17), contributed 14 points.

Their game against CSI concluded the Rangers’ non-conference schedule. They faced conference opponent Elizabethtown College on Feb. 1 in Elizabethtown, PA. The team fell to Elizabethtown with a score of 54-69, causing their record to fall to 8-12 overall, with a 4-5 record in the Landmark Conference.

The Drew University women’s basketball team returns to the court to face off against the Catholic University of America in a Landmark Conference game this Saturday at home.
