Last week, the Drew University men’s and women’s swimming teams picked up wins at their dual meet at Goucher College in a Landmark Conference matchup.

Both the men and the women improve to 6-2 in dual meets this season. The women defeated the Gophers, 122-77 and the men defeated them with a score of 109-71.

Mal Vishwanath (’20) turned in the fastest 400-yard individual medley time in the Landmark Conference this season, touching the wall in 4:46.51. Jenny Stein (’18) won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.48 and led off both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays. Jack Mahoney (’20) was victorious with wins in the 100- and 200-yard free while also winning the Landmark Conference Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week award for the second time this season. Mahoney won his athlete of the week back in October, which was the first Landmark Athlete of the Week in the history of the program.

Also this past weekend, Jessup was selected as the Drew Woman of the Year by the New Jersey Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW). Jessup was honored at the 25th annual New Jersey Girls and Women in Sports Day at Seton Hall University.

The Rangers are home for their final dual meet tomorrow, Feb. 4, opposite Ramapo College. Drew will also be honoring their two seniors, Jessup and Pete Mari (’17) for Senior Day.
