The women’s basketball team rallied from 18 points down in the second half to beat the Raritan Valley Community College Lions 75-71 on Sunday in Baldwin Gym, their third straight victory.

Guard Isabelle Lalo (‘25) forced overtime by sinking a three-pointer with only nine seconds left on the clock.

Amy Rachilla (‘27) posted 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds while forward Gianna Pica (‘26) netted 21 points and 11 rebounds. Miabella Diaz (‘27) contributed 10 points and seven rebounds for Drew.

Drew trailed 50-32 with just under six minutes left in the third quarter, a deficit that would soon mark the start of their second-half push. Forward Gracie Hezel (C‘24, G‘25) knocked down a foul-line jumper to cap off an 8-2 run and bring the Rangers within 12 at 52-40.

Rachilla scored 10 of Drew’s points in the final quarter, including a pair of free throws.

Following a timeout, Rachilla found Lalo open at the three-point line, resulting in a shot that found nothing but net. Although a last-second shot could have secured the win there, the contest continued into an overtime period.

Field goals from forwards Brenna Hezel (‘26) and Pica put the Rangers up 67-66 with 3:33 to go.

A basket from Diaz gave Drew a three-point lead around the two-minute mark. However, weaving through a suffocating Lion defense, Rachilla sank a layup and a free throw to push the score to 73-71.

The win over the Lions propelled the women’s basketball team to 4-1 after two conference wins against Moravian and Goucher.

Drew returns to Landmark Conference action against Lycoming College on Dec. 7 and will take on crosstown rival FDU-Florham on Dec. 14.
