Drew’s women’s lacrosse team exhibited their strengths in a decisive victory over Lycoming College during their senior day this past Saturday, April 13.

Drew beat Lycoming 19-5 in a Landmark Conference game with the help of formidable performances by the team’s seniors.

After a ceremony honoring the team’s nine graduating seniors, the Rangers opened the game with an aggressive first quarter.

Ella Champigny (’24) led the way for the Rangers by scoring six goals, marking a career-high and reaching a milestone of 100 career goals.

Halfway through the first quarter, Champigny began a relentless attack and scored two points in two minutes, bringing the score to 5-1.

Following her lead, Lizzy Barret (‘24) continued the scoring spree and recorded a goal of her own before assisting Rachael West (‘24) on another goal 13 seconds later.

Lycoming’s defense adjusted to Drew’s initial attack during the second quarter, but Champigny managed to notch another goal for the Rangers, their only one for the quarter.

The Rangers brought back the pressure after halftime, scoring seven points in the third quarter.

Lycoming’s Riley Block (‘26) scored all five of their points over the course of the game.

Drew’s prowess on the field was in large part thanks to contributions from the team’s seniors.

Mary Kate Davidson (’24) made three goals, while also contributing an assist, six draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Barret, Emma DiPatri (’24), West and Kayla Schaefer (’24) combined for a total of seven goals for Drew.

Goalie Carly Smith (’24) made four saves in the last quarter after taking over from Paige Shaw (’27), who played the first three quarters and blocked seven shots.

The Rangers currently stand at an 8-7 overall season record. Drew next returns to the field on Saturday, April 20 when they take on Landmark Conference rival Goucher College.
