On Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Student Activities held Your Choice Movie Night in Crawford Hall. The event was part of Drew’s Spirit Week, and attendees were encouraged to wear pajamas and bring blankets. Catering from Delikositas, including grilled chicken and empanadas, was provided, filling the room with a flavorful aroma.

In the spirit of the name “Your Choice,” audience members were polled for recommendations as to what movie to watch. Genre suggestions included horror, rom-com and superhero movies, with movie suggestions including “Black Panther,” “Nope” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” Eventually, the audience decided to watch “Scream 4,” which began to play around 7:30 p.m.

In the fourth installment of the “Scream” franchise, Sidney Prescott, who survived three previous run-ins with the killer Ghostface, returns to her hometown of Woodsboro to promote her new book. Soon after Sidney’s return, a new Ghostface begins terrorizing the inhabitants of Woodsboro once again. The film featured plenty of jump scares, poked fun at the horror movie reboot trend and had an intriguing plot twist, making it an entertaining watch overall.

“I really enjoyed the event. The food was really good. It was fun seeing this kind of movie with friends. It was a good event overall,” said Kris Perez (‘24).

The next event of Spirit Week is Bring Your Valentine to Bingo Night, which will be held on Friday, Feb. 3 from 8 p.m. to midnight in Crawford Hall. Make sure to follow Student Activities on Instagram for updates on more exciting events!
