Now that the holiday season is finally upon us, the time has now come to deck the halls with boughs of holly and make our festive wishes come true. For many, the holiday season means indulging in delicious dishes and humming along to their favorite tunes. Students had the opportunity to do both at Drew’s Winter Ball.

The Winter Ball is a long-standing holiday tradition organized by the brilliant hosts from the Drew University’s Student Engagement team. Known as the “Holiday Ball” prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Winter Ball made its premier appearance this year. The annual ball gathers a multitude of Drew students together in their best cocktail attire to enjoy the evening. As groups flocked to the doors of the EC, they were greeted with the scenes of a winter wonderland: white trees decorated The Space, and a massive holiday tree covered with lights, ornaments and roses drew crowds into the eatery which was transformed into a dancefloor. Music and laughter filled the air as peers rejoiced in each other’s company and danced the night away. Those not dancing indulged in the delicious apple cider, satisfied their sweet tooth at the chocolate fountains, decorated cookies in The Space or simply captured the moment with a perfectly posed picture at the photo booth. There was truly entertainment for everyone.

As yet another successful Winter Ball came to a close, students headed home as late as 1 a.m., still reeling in their excitement. The Winter Ball provided students with an opportunity to decompress and enjoy a night out with friends, and students are undoubtedly excited for next year’s dance.
