2 mins read

Ajay Sah, a junior at Drew University, was reported missing to campus authorities the afternoon of Thursday, January 21. Friends report last seeing Sah two days prior, at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frank Merckx, Vice President of Student Life and Campus Affairs, officially informed the Drew community in an email on Sunday evening, after multiple posts by Sah’s friends and family were shared on social media. Merckx continued, saying that the University had advised the Madison Police Department of the situation which, following protocol, has contacted the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the New York Police Department and NJ Transit Police.

While additional information was not released by the University, and law enforcement agencies have not publicly commented, Sah’s family believes his last known activity to be the purchase of an NJ Transit ticket from Madison to Penn Station at 11 p.m. that Tuesday. Sah is 5’ 6”, with black hair and dark eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie with a black leather jacket.

The Madison Police Department is asking anyone with information that could aid in the effort to find Sah to contact Det. Ryan Dunn at (973) 593-3014.

UPDATE — 1/26/2021, 5:05 p.m.

In a message to the Drew community Tuesday evening, one week since Sah went missing, Merckx said that Sah’s information had been entered into the FBI National Crime Information Center, a database which can be accessed by law enforcement officials around the country in order to increase awareness. He also confirmed that Sah was last seen exiting an NJ Transit train in Penn Station, though his destination remains unknown.
