This last week has been another insane week for the news media. Down in Washington and across the world, every day a new prominent story has taken the media by storm. Whether it be the latest news on Stormy Daniels, further diplomatic expulsion for Russia or a tweet announcing another controversial policy idea, the news has been full of groundbreaking reports. However, the only story that has me and many others, obsessed this week is the ‘Who Bit Beyonce?’ controversy.
As a proud member of the BeyHive, it not only shocks me but also confuses me why and how any person would have the nerve to bite Beyonce; on her cheek nevertheless! As everyone is aware, Beyonce is the Queen and the mystery of someone biting her has millions of fans focused on finding out who did it (and likely ending the perpetrator’s career). This whole story broke when comedian Tiffany Haddish spilled the beans in a GQ article about the bite at Beyonce and Jay Z’s party in December. “There was this actress there that’s just, like, doing the mostest. She bit Beyoncé in the face,” said Haddish. Haddish went on to say that she went up to Beyonce later in the evening and offered to fight the actress, but Beyonce informed her that this actress was “not like that all the time” and was under the influence of drugs. Throughout the interview, Haddish refused to name the actress.
Once the interview broke, the attention immediately turned to finding out who the actress was. Tons of speculation has been made about the identity of the perpetrator. from Jennifer Aniston to Taraji P. Henson to even Shirley MaClaine, all of whom have had to deny being involved in the bite-gate. Though, the name mentioned most is Sanaa Lathan who has appeared in Love & Basketball and The Best Man. Lathan, unlike many of the other names circulating, attended the December party where the incident took place, making it more likely that she did it. According to TMZ, multiple sources confirmed that Haddish had told them privately that Lathan was the biter. But revealed on Wednesday that she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement., and therefore could not comment on the situation.
