From Apple

Every year, the world waits for Apple to reveal its new products. Attached to our screens, many of us wait impatiently for the reveal and the next product that will empty our pockets. This year’s keynote took place in the brand new Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, CA. This brand new Apple campus runs on a 100% renewable energy and it is one of the largest onsite solar powered spaces in the world; it has been created with extreme and incredible precision.

It is important to remember that the overall message that Apple tried to portray was a message of love, especially given our political climate was very well fitted. They truly believe in making a product from a place of wonder, a place of caring and of course one of love.

After the introduction of the Steve Jobs Theatre, the CEO, Tim Cook, called one of his colleagues to the stage such as Angela Ahrendts, who presented Today at Apple a program to explore liberal arts. The team then presented the Apple Watch Series 3. The Apple Watch is now a cellular watch. So yes, you can leave your phone at home. The colleague then proceeded to talk about the Apple TV, which comes with a brand new family game called Sky. Sky is an app that is centered around the journey of the main character that seeks light and releases butterflies in the process.

But the one thing everyone has been waiting for is the new iPhone.  Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus comes in silver, space gray and a beautiful gold finish. The new iPhone is also water and dust resistant has an Apple retina display and a new speaker system that is 25% louder. The sizes of both phones remains the same as those from the 7th generation. Both iPhones are equipped with 12MP cameras, that take in 83% more light. The iPhone 8 starting at $699 for 64GB and the iPhone 8 plus starting at $799 for 64GB.

It is important to say that 10 years ago, Steve Job’s presented the world with this new technology, which was only fitting that 10 years later the iPhone revolutionize the future of a smartphone. This iPhone X (pronounced “ten”) just like the new generation iPhone 8 comes in space gray and silver. With an edge to edge design, the phone is considerably larger (5.8in). It has a durable glass on both sides, water and dust resistant, no home button. No home button. Yes. No home button. FaceID, is how you unlock your phone. Although many other brands attempted FaceID, Apple claims to have coined it.The FaceID allows one to unlock the phone with facial recognition. With this FaceID comes the ability to animate emojis in iMessage—Animoji. All for the starting price of $999 for 64GB.

It is no surprise that Steve Jobs’s favorite quote was “Skate to where the puck is going, not where it has been.” –Walter Gretzky.
