The women’s equestrian team opened their spring season this past weekend at the Marist Horse Show on Saturday. Carli Gentile (’18) led the team, winning the High Point Rider, as well as picking up her third and fourth blue ribbons for the 2016-2017 season. She competed in and won both the intermediate fences and intermediate flats events. Her victories helped lead the team to their first reserve championship of the season as well as their first reserve championship in a show since October 2014.
Drew totaled 33 points as a team, which tied with their highest total for the 2016-2017 season. Claudia Payor (’19) was also a strong contributor for the team, taking third in both the open fences and open flats events. Catherine Tamburri (’20) scored in two different events as well, placing third in novice fences and fourth in novice flat.
The Rangers compete again on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the IHSA All Region 3 Show at Crosswinds.
