Drew University field hockey gained their first conference win this week against The University of Scranton. The Rangers were 0-2 in conference before the game, but now bring their conference record to 1-2 after the 2-1 win in overtime.

Midfielder Audrey Carr (’20) scored the game-tying and overtime goal on Wednesday evening. Scranton scored in the 55th minute of the game, while the Rangers followed five minutes after with their goal.

Carr’s goals accounted for her second and third of her rookie career, while defender Michele Pozyc (’18) assisted in Carr’s first goal of the game and midfielder Huma Sheikh (’17) helped on the overtime goal.

The Rangers now improve to 3-8 and 1-2 in the Landmark Conference, while the Royals drop to 4-9 and 1-3. This is Drew’s second overtime victory of the season.

The Rangers are on the road tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 15 in another Landmark Conference game against Susquehanna University. Then the Rangers return home on Monday, Oct. 17 to face off against across the road rivals Fairleigh Dickinson University.
