Drew men’s soccer had their second Landmark Conference game scheduled for October 1 postponed until a later date.
On Wednesday, Oct. 6, the Rangers beat the Scranton University Royals in Scranton, Pa. 2-1 to continue their undefeated Landmark record 1-0-1 and extend their regular season record to 6-2-2.
The Rangers were down 0-1 at the half, when in the 62nd minute of play Andy Imoh (’20) scored unassisted. Anthony McMyne (’19) kept the momentum and scored less than four minutes later, off an assist from Imoh. Imoh scored his fifth goal of the season, the team high. McMyne’s game winning goal was his third of the season.
Goalkeeper John Marques (’17) had an impressive game as well, producing three saves between the 55th and 61st minutes of the game, which then allowed the Rangers to gain control of the ball and begin their offensive strike which resulted in two goals.
Throughout the game, the Rangers and the Royals were evenly matched, as Scranton outshot Drew 8-7, with five of them on goal compared to Drew’s three.
The Rangers are back on the road for their conference match up against Juniata on Saturday, October 8 at 3:30 p.m.
