“I usually ask people to guess my ethnicity. Whenever they ask me, I tell them to guess instead. I’ve gotten a wide range of guesses. I’ve gotten Hawaiian and Colombian and other things that are totally off. My mom is completely Filipino, and my dad is predominantly French and German. Particularly, when I was younger, my grandmother on my dad’s side would bring my little brother and I grocery shopping and people would always ask if we were adopted.”
