The South Asian Students Association and Alpha Phi Omega hosted “Rave of Pyaar” on Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Ehinger Center’s Crawford Hall and Eatery from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Students were all invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day a few days early with high-energy music to dance to and food to enjoy while socializing with their peers. Those who planned to attend were recommended to wear vibrant and expressive outfits that would match the high-energy intended for the night.
As students arrived at the event, they were signed in by the SASA board and then directed to enter APO’s raffle and learn more about APO as an organization. Entering the raffle gave them a chance to win one of three Valentine’s Day-themed prize baskets. Many students made their way over to the free food provided for the event to fuel up and socialize before hitting the dance floor in Crawford Hall.

Attendees were also able to get their photos taken in either digital or polaroid camera format to remember the fun night they had at the rave. After getting photos taken with friends or their partner, those in attendance moved into Crawford Hall to start dancing to the energetic music the DJ was playing. The lights and decorations set the atmosphere for what ended up being a lively event.
At the end of the night when the event started to wrap up, the raffle winners were announced and went up to claim their prizes. When asked about the turnout for the event, SASA’s co-president Jordyn Casanova-Ghosh (‘28) said that, “In terms of the turnout, I will admit it was a bit smaller than last year, but I like to think that this year was quality versus quantity. Everyone that turned up had an absolutely amazing time. All the food was eaten, everyone was on the dance floor, and most of all, everyone had fun!”
