The Drew University Theater and Dance Department, in partnership with the Drew University Dramatic Society, put on a stellar dance show showcasing different decades that highlighted the choreographers’ passions.
This semester’s dance show was held in the Thomas H. Kean Black Box Theater through Nov. 21-23 and had extremely high attendance. It was truly a stunning display of talented dancers and choreographers that Drew students and families enjoyed.

“Being in dance show has been such a fun experience! From auditions, to the practices, and now to the actual performances. I got to work with some people that have done this plenty of times before, but I also met a lot of new people that quickly became my friends!” said Angie Silva (‘25).
The dance show is hosted once a semester at Drew. This round of the fall semester show, the choreographers each selected a decade to choreograph a dance to.
“I want to be able to choreograph something that I enjoy, and that I think that other people would enjoy,” said Kayla Rose (‘26), one of the choreographers who did a piece based on video games from the 2010s.
After countless hours of hard work over the span of several weeks, the dancers were ready to go put on a remarkable performance. The first two performance slots were completely sold out.
The dancers performed gracefully and put everything they had into their performances. Some even danced in more than one piece and admirably showed off their abilities to adapt to different dance styles.
To communicate support for the dancers, the attendees were able to buy candy grams in which they could write notes to their friends and family members in the production. The candy grams also contributed to the DUDS department, helping with their funding.
This dance show was the first for many, creating memories for all the dancers, choreographers and audience members.
