 Journey of A Crystal Adventure

Crystals are my very soul. I always have some sort of crystal piece of jewelry on. If you listen closely, you’ll hear my crystal bracelets clack around campus. So obviously, I needed to list a few of my favorite crystals.

One of them has to be amethyst. Besides being my birthstone, it is also a very popular stone within the crystal community with many good properties. This crystal can help with clarity, focus, protection against negative emotions, support for grief and probably so much more, but we would be here all day if I listed them all.

Within the spiritual scene it is believed that humans have seven chakras, and amethyst is said to be linked with the crown chakra. The crown chakra is the seventh chakra, located at the top of the head. This chakra is linked to spiritual connection, transformation and feeling one with the world. Amethyst is said to foster this spiritual connection within the divine or spiritual realm. It is also said to help one realize their higher self, and to become a more spiritually awakened and conscious person.

So if you want to be cooler and more spiritually aligned, amethyst is in literally every crystal shop (a shop should have their crystals taken away at the shame of not having amethyst).

Another crystal I have to put in here is the tiger’s eye. Tiger’s eye can actually come in a variety of colors. The ones I have seen include brown, red and blue. If we were to rank how rare each color is, brown is common, red is a bit more rare and blue is the rarest due to blue pigment in tiger’s eye being more uncommon.

Tiger’s eye is said to hold the properties of confidence boosting and mental clarity, and it also fosters resilience and courage in the face of obstacles. This crystal is mainly connected to the solar plexus chakra, but it can also be associated with other chakras. Being that the third chakra located at the abdomen, the solar plexus chakra is associated with confidence, willpower and self-worth.

Tiger’s eye works to boost these qualities, and it will make you a confident person in all sectors of life and within yourself. Tiger’s eye is also a very commonplace crystal, although it might take a crystal store or two to find them in red and blue colors.

Rose quartz is another common find. Often associated with love, this crystal can also be used to manifest love for the self and for friends. Rose quartz can help with relationship problems and can also prompt self-healing.

Associated with the heart chakra (really emphasizing the love here), this chakra is located at (you guessed it) the heart. This fourth chakra out of seven is associated with love, emotional balance, compassion and empathy for others. Rose quartz will help you become not only a better person both to yourself and others, but will also help you see others with a more compassionate lens.

We are talking about the love crystal here – if you perhaps wear enough rose quartz, you might be able to get a date (although as someone who has tried this method, I think I need a more powerful crystal).

This next crystal is actually quite a rarer and way more expensive crystal: moldavite. My interest in this crystal is because of one of its notorious properties to those who know of it — that property being that this crystal will take out any negative or toxic people in your life. The stories I have heard about this crystal are wild. Suddenly couples break up, families fall apart, people get hit by birds, you name it.

This mysteriousness makes the demand kick up, and with short supply, moldavite becomes both scarce to find and incredibly expensive when one does find it. Just a necklace with a moldavite pendant the size of a teardrop will cost at least $120.

I would know, as on one of my crystal journeys I was pulled away in tears as I was not willing to spend that amount of money (I do not care whether it will make me Mariah Carey).

Moldavite can also foster properties of intuition, high vibrational energy and can open the chakra pathways. Although connected with the crown chakra for higher spiritual connection, it is also associated with the third eye chakra. This third chakra, located in the center of your eyebrows, is meant to connect one with intuition and perception along with inner vision.

With moldavite, all these properties will be further cultivated, and your intuition and perspective on others, and on life in general, will strengthen greatly. So in theory, you will literally feel when a person is too toxic or is hiding something.

This should serve as a message to both crystal lovers and non-crystal lovers alike. Crystals are not only nice aesthetically, but it is quite nice to know the meanings and purposes behind every crystal you get.

So whenever you get a crystal, perhaps take a minute to search up its meaning. This list has some great crystals to get one started on their crystal journey, and there are so many more out there to find once you start. Good luck with your crystal hunting!
