Lacrosse’s Winnings Streak Snapped by Kean

The women’s lacrosse team extended their winning streak to four as they picked up another win against Stockton University on Saturday, March 17. Jenna Morelli (‘20) and Mia Campanale (‘19) led the offense as they scored four goals apiece in the 9-5 victory.

Sage Johnson (‘18) added another goal to the tally, also adding an assist, four ground balls and three draw controls. Allie DiDario (‘20) led the team with six ground balls and six caused turnovers along with two assists. Kat Michalski (‘21) made 12 saves in goal.

The Rangers were back in action sooner than expected on Tuesday, March 20, as their game was moved up a day due to snow. Kean broke the Rangers’ winning streak to maintain their perfect 6-0 record.

Kean took a commanding lead early on, scoring the first five goals of the game. The Rangers soon answered back, scoring three goals and cutting the deficit to 6-3, the closest the game would be. By the half, Kean was up 9-4. The final score of the matchup was 15-8.

Lauren Cassella (‘21) scored five of the eight goals for the Rangers Johnson added two and DiDario contributed the final goal. DiDario also added four ground balls, three caused turnovers and five draw controls. Johnson added six draw controls as well. Michalski made 17 saves in goal.

The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, March 24, as they host Landmark Conference opponent Catholic at 12 p.m.
